Acne Treatment

Acne Treatment

Acne is a skin condition that typically affects the face, but may also involve the chest and back. Acne may manifest itself as white heads, blackheads, and cysts. In many instances, when the acne lesion resolves, residual dark marks or pitted scars remain.

Acne affects patients of all ages. In teenagers, it is driven by the hormone testosterone, which increases during puberty and stimulates sebaceous glands of the skin to grow, make oil and plug pores. In adults, acne may be related to hormones, childbirth, menopause, or medications. Diet may also be linked to acne. There are studies that suggest that dairy products and high glycemic index foods (sodas, juices) may contribute to acne flares.

For mild acne, treatment typically starts with topical antibiotics, retinoids derived from Vitamin A, and benzoyl peroxide. Extraction or acne surgery may be performed to remove black and whiteheads. In the setting of moderate acne, antibiotic pills are often prescribed. In some women, hormonal treatments may be helpful. In patients with recalcitrant acne or if it is severe with scarring, oral isotretinoin may be utilized. After your acne is controlled, several cosmetic procedures may be used to improve residual acne scarring including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser resurfacing.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels, is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers, allowing the skin that grows back to be smoother.Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, discolored skin and scars — usually on the face. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures. And they can be done at different depths, from light to deep. Deeper chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but also take longer to recover from.

Chest

Chest

The décolleté is often neglected until wrinkles, pigment damage, and thinning of the skin present. Each patient may have different issues, and the treatment is tailored to fit the need. Combinations of treatments to address texture, pigmentation, and wrinkles are used to improve the appearance and reduce signs of aging.

Cosmetic Consultation

Cosmetic Consultation

Start the conversation. With the overwhelming media coverage and friend recommendations, it can be challenging to understand what procedures may be right for you. In a cosmetic consultation, our physicians will take the time to evaluate and discuss any concerns, devising a treatment plan that works to address all issues. The regimen may include both at-home therapies and in-office procedures. The focus of a cosmetic consultation is to discuss a plan to achieve a natural, rejuvenated appearance.

**We do require a $300 cosmetic deposit that is applied to your procedure.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive procedure that shaves away the top layers of your skin that can help reduce the appearance of acne scars or other skin imperfections by revealing newer, undamaged skin, allowing the skin to look younger. Dermaplanning can also be used for temporary hair removal.

Dysport ™

Dysport ™

Neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau are purified proteins that have been used for years to treat dynamic wrinkles that form from excessive small muscle contraction.

These proteins have been used to smooth and relax frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, upper lip wrinkles, neckbands, and “gummy smiles.”

These toxins are highly purified and dilute, and have proven to be extremely safe to use. The toxin is injected directly into the desired area and takes effect by decreasing the contraction of the muscle, ultimately softening and in some instances eliminating the line.

Relaxation is gradual, usually starting after 48 hours with Dysport and 72 hours with Botox, progressing over two weeks. The treatment lasts on average for three and a half to four months.

Fillers

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable substances that can restore volume to the face, earlobes, and hands and reshape and augment the lips, nose, and chin.

Many women and men elect to have dermal fillers as a safe and effective option for facial rejuvenation.

Before making the decision to seek fillers to address wrinkles, folds, and hollowness, it’s important for patients to properly educate themselves about the treatment and different product options.

Hand Rejuvenation

Hand Rejuvenation

As one ages, he or she may notice more visible veins, wrinkles, and loss of volume in the hands. Using the FDA-approved Restylane Lyft, we use the filler in your hands to correct age-related volume loss, resulting in a softer and more youthful appearance.

Intensive Pulse Light

Intensive Pulse Light for Men: How Men Can Diminish Discoloration With Intense Pulsed Light

Just like women, men are susceptible to hyperpigmentation, acne, fine lines, and rosacea.

Fortunately, these skin conditions can be effectively treated with a series of intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments to help male patients achieve clear and even skin.

Kybella

Kybella

KYBELLA® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness, the so-called “double chin.”

Submental fullness impacts a broad range of adults, including both women and men, and can be caused by aging, genetics and weight gain.

Patients concerned about their submental fullness have not had many non-surgical treatment options, until now.

Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis

Laser genesis works by heating the dermis directly under the skin; this stimulates collagen production, which plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The heat from the laser can also constrict blood vessels, which helps fight redness and rosacea. It can also help treat acne and scarring.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal

Guys often dread shaving their face every morning before work because it causes skin irritation, cuts, and ingrown hairs.

A similar degree of stress may also come from excess hair on their backs and chests that makes them feel self-conscious or hot in the summertime.

Based on these concerns, many men are electing to undergo laser hair removal to permanently thin and reduce body and facial hair.

This option is especially attractive when compared to waxing or other methods of hair removal because it is safe, quick, and extremely effective.

Before making the decision to have laser hair removal, here’s what men need to know.

Lip Enhancement

Lip Enhancement

Lip enhancement is achieved with filler to gently restore a natural-looking lip, defining lip contours, and subtly adding volume. The fillers used have been specifically developed as a smooth gel to give a soft, natural feel. The gel fills in lip lines and wrinkles while the hyaluronic acid within attracts and retains moisture, so results can be long lasting.

Liquid Facelift

Liquid Facelift

For patients who are not ready for plastic surgery, we have experience in full-face rejuvenation to revitalize your appearance. Every individual has unique features and strengths. Our doctors will work with you to create a plan to optimize the treatment while maintaining a natural appearance. These procedures are non-invasive and performed in the office. Liquid facelifts involve combination therapies, including injectables, lasers, and Botox®/Dysport®.

Medical Facials

Medical Facial

While a bar of Dove soap may have once been an acceptable daily regimen, achieving healthy and attractive skin requires additional care and consideration.

Therefore, it isn’t surprising that more male patients are seeking regular medical facials to complement their new and improved skincare routines or to prepare for an event or special occasion.

Before booking that first facial appointment, men may wonder what to expect from the session.

Microbotox

Microbotox

Small amounts of Dysport or Botox are injected in tiny amounts to the face and neck, which may improve skin texture, roughness, and pore size. By targeting the superficial fibers of the facial muscles, it can weaken their pull on the skin, which is responsible for the fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck.

Microneedling

Microneedling for Men

There’s no denying that cosmetic treatments are on the rise for men as a way to improve skin quality and combat the signs of aging.

While some male patients are entirely new to cosmetic procedures, others may have tried chemical peels or microdermabrasion, but are not ready for laser treatments.

Fortunately, microneedling is an excellent non-surgical option that can help men achieve smoother, clearer skin and natural results.

Here’s what men should know about the process, benefits, and experience of microneedling.

Neck Rejuvenation

Neck rejuvenation

The neck can easily be forgotten, but it often is the first sign of aging. In-office treatments to counteract loose skin, wrinkles, and fullness are combined with at-home applications to rejuvenate the delicate skin.

Photofractional Treatment

Photofractional Treatment

The Photofractional laser treatment is a versatile solution for addressing a range of skin concerns. This cutting-edge technology is effective in treating deeper lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and redness. By utilizing this advanced treatment in succession, patients can experience noticeable improvements in their skin’s texture and appearance. The procedure is designed to be quick and requires minimal downtime, making it a convenient option for individuals seeking to enhance the overall quality of their skin.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Hair Stimulation

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Hair Stimulation

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy has demonstrated efficacy in promoting hair regrowth and maintenance. This minimally invasive procedure harnesses the body’s regenerative capabilities by introducing growth factors to the targeted area, typically yielding observable improvements. Furthermore, the treatment is characterized by its lack of downtime and absence of systemic side effects.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments involve drawing a small amount of your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets. These platelets are rich in growth factors that are believed to promote skin rejuvenation. When combined with microneedling, which uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, the PRP is applied topically to the treated area. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, triggering the production of new collagen and elastin.

As a result, the skin may appear smoother, brighter, and more youthful. Additionally, due to the regenerative properties of PRP, the downtime following the procedure is typically minimal, allowing a quicker return to regular activities. Combined with microneedling, this minimally invasive technique stimulates new collagen production, resulting in smoother, brighter, and tighter skin. Due to the healing properties of PRP, downtime is minimal.

Redness, Broken Blood Vessels, Rosacea

Redness, Broken Blood Vessels, Rosacea

Laser treatments can target background redness and broken blood vessels to even skin color, resulting in a more luminous complexion. Extensive flushing and blushing may improve after treatments.

Resurfx ™

Resurfx ™ for Men

Just like women, men are also looking for younger smoother looking skin.

There are so many different treatments available that men should not be worried that there will not be any options for them.

Men who want to smooth out their skin texture, tighten pores and blend uneven skin tone will benefit from fractional laser resurfacing.

ResurFX laser is an excellent option if you want:

  • Improved pore size and texture
  • Even skin tone and treat discolored spots
  • Smooth skin texture and even acne scars
  • Rejuvenate neck, chest and hands
Sculptra ®

Sculptra ®

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible molecule, which helps to stimulate a gradual building of one’s own collagen.  It is indicated for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial folds (smile lines) and other facial wrinkles.

It works gradually to replace collagen that is lost during the aging process.

We recommend two-to-three injection sessions, spaced four-to-six weeks apart. The results are gradual and subtle, continuing to improve for approximately three months after your treatment.
